Belvedere is just a few minutes' drive from: Udine (the regional capital and cultural heart of Friuli); Cividale (founded by Julius Ceasar and 8th century capital of one of the Longobard duchies) San Daniele (world-renowned for its cured ham "prosciutto").
Further afield, but still within an hour's drive are Aquileia (at one point the second largest city in the Roman Empire); Grado and Lignano (famous sea-resort and spas); Gemona and Venzone: the medieval towns.
